The player begins with manufacturer trials which allow them to begin relationships with different manufacturers. Ridge Racer 7 is set on a group of islands called Ridge State, where the player compete in the Ridge State Grand Prix. This is much more visible during night time tracks, where the street lighting is much brighter.
